Of all the creations, man is a most extraordinary work of God! We read in Psalm 8, “What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man … that thou hast crowned him with glory and with honor?”

We are fearfully and wonderfully made. In a day when so many people are finding themselves with increasing fear within their hearts, I want us to look aside from those factors of what we see about us, and just consider the human body and the human spirit. The human spirit is the creation of God, but the recreated human spirit is the greater creation of God today in this world because the recreated spirit that now houses the living presence of the living God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit dwelling in us – is a spirit that cannot be conquered.

And then there is the soul of man, for man is a tri-part being. He is a spirit. He possesses a soul, which means he has a mind, will, intellect, emotions, and he lives in a body that is physical. But because of the real man that lives inside the body, the spiritual man, there is such extraordinary help for his physical body.

I think about the terrible conditions people are in with the various viruses in today’s atmosphere. However, we don’t know how many people have viruses, how many with no symptoms whatsoever actually have a virus, how many people had it and didn’t know that they had it. These are all important facts that medical researchers need to find out many things happening in the populations of the world through devastating diseases.

Throughout human history, we really don’t know how many people have had life-threatening conditions and didn’t know they had them. This may be a new fact for many people. Most people think if you have something really wrong with you, you know it. But it is possible to have a life-threatening condition and not even be aware of it. I want you to think on that fact.

God has given us a great truth that is connected, as far as our health is concerned, in the Book of Isaiah. The great promise is, “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn.” This of paramount importance today.

The Word of God doesn’t say that the weapons of the enemy won’t attack you. It doesn’t say that you will not be attacked. But it does say that whatever the attack is, it shall not prosper. It cannot do any damage to you. What an extraordinary thought! It’s important to understand this today.

You may be told that you have something very seriously wrong with you. But the Word says – and you have been told – that this condition can be condemned in your own body by the power and authority of the Name of Jesus. You can say, “Jesus bore this.” He bore everything connected with sickness in people’s bodies. You can say, “Jesus bore this condition in my body. He bore it on the cross. It was condemned on the cross. It has been conquered on the cross, and the price has been paid for my deliverance from the effects of this.”

I now walk in a new freedom. I walk in a new faith in Jesus that allows me to turn to the Lord, and I will praise Him and be in awe of His glorious works. I am in awe that He has given me a body that can be repaired, that can be healed of any sickness or disease, because I am “fearfully and wonderfully made.” The rest of the Scripture in Psalm 139:14 says, “… marvelous are your works, and my soul knows it full well.”

I want to share something so marvelous that I had an opportunity to be a part of in India. I was in a huge facility, preaching to an immense crowd of people. One of our Prophetic Ministries people was also there as part of the prayer team, and I asked one of the ladies to give a testimony of how she had been told by her doctor that she had a very short time to live. Her cancer was inoperable, nothing could be done, and she just needed to set her affairs straight and accept the fact that she was going to pass away shortly. She heard that report. It was the report of a condition that she truly had in her body. That cancer had taken over her physical being, and it was going to take her life.

But upon hearing the report, instead of her soul sinking into despair, her soul arose! Ah! Fearfully and wonderfully made. We are fearfully and wonderfully made! We can rise, rise right up in that situation. She thanked the doctor for his services and walked out of the office and said, “I have given my life and my service to my Lord Jesus Christ, and I just receive His abundant blessing, and I accept His marvelous work of healing inside my body.” And she was immediately healed. She accepted that she was healed at that moment.

It was a wonderful testimony, but what followed was even more extraordinary. I often wondered, as I read the Scripture and spoke to the Holy Spirit, about the fact that it said in Jesus’ ministry, the “maimed” were healed. Now that’s something you rarely hear about, of limbs being restored. But immediately after that testimony, all over that facility as I went down to pray, people with missing arms, legs and eyes instantly had them replaced in their bodies. I saw arms grow out of shoulders that had no arms! I saw legs grow out where legs had been amputated. I saw amazing things, and I’ve thought about it many times. No one had ever seen the likes of what took place in that meeting. It was almost like a dream because you couldn’t conceive of it. It wasn’t just one or two people in a maimed condition, there were many, many such miracles that took place.

I asked the Lord, “How is it that the maimed were healed today? We don’t often see the maimed healed.” And the Lord told me, “The power of the testimony that was given centered on the fact that My work is complete. I have completed My work in glory, and My work is the work that I work in you who are fearfully and wonderfully made, that I can re-work you, I can restore you, I can bring back any part of your being that has been destroyed, maimed, hurt, or diseased.” Oh, to live in these realities is so important!

“Fearfully” in Psalm 139 means “made with respect, honor and reverence.” “Wonderfully” means that man was created in a distinct way that is different from other creations. Because this is the way we were made, we are able to know God. Many don’t know there is a God or that they can know Him, but this is part of being fearfully and wonderfully made. We are able to know God. We are able to know the Holy Spirit. We are able to know the Lord Jesus Christ. There are three Persons, and we can know Father, Son and Holy Spirit as Persons, not just as ideas or as spirits, but as Persons with personalities. We can know God.

We can also know ourselves – and is this not a day to know ourselves? We can know things. We can acquire knowledge. We can process information. It’s all part of the fact that we have been fearfully and wonderfully made. We’re made to be able to be creative. Today is a day to be creative. It’s amazing what creativity can do in the human heart, because if we’re creative, we’re able to change many things by faith. We’re able to bring things into existence. We can create by our own spirit and soul, fearfully and wonderfully made.

Today is not a day to say, “There’s nothing I can do.” No. That is not understanding the human being that has been created. God created us to be fearfully and wonderfully made. We are a part of His marvelous works. And as part of His marvelous works, we too can enter into marvelous works and marvelous creativity. We are given by God some of His own abilities. What a thought! Some of God’s own abilities have been given to us. We’re made able to be triumphant, to be victorious, more than conquerors. We’re made to resist fear, and we are made for faith. Ah, yes!

We should get up in the morning and say, “Thank you, Jesus, I was made for faith. I was made for faith today! I thank you, Lord, I will use my faith for your glory today.” We are made in such a way that we can turn our weaknesses into strengths. We are made to function in the God kind of faith, the faith that conquers death. This is the faith we live in today.

Hebrews 11 tells us, “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.” All things are possible to those who believe. The areas of God’s vital realities live in us. And when these vital truths are really living inside of me, then I do not need to use my faith. I do not have to use my faith for what I actually possess. This is important.

The woman who received her healing possessed her healing. That’s why she could walk out of the doctor’s office in peace. Faith is the substance of things that are hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Faith is for what I am hoping for. If I know in my heart that I am healed, I don’t need to exercise faith for healing.

Think about that. We want to grow into the place of knowing. Sometimes when we’ve heard someone ask, “How did you know?” the answer often has been, “I know because I know because I know.” This is a knowing in God. I am knowing in Him. I am not knowing in the human part of me, I am knowing in the spiritual part of me. And when I have knowing, then I do not have to exercise faith for healing.

I exercise faith for healing when I believe I need healing. And if I have not received healing, then I need to exercise my faith.

Yes, we are fearfully and wonderfully made. In Jesus was life, and His life was the light of men. All of our wellbeing is based on the principle of life that God established. The principle of life is based on the miraculous substance that God created all things from and by, and He has allowed each of us to interact with that divine substance. And in our interaction with it, we call it faith.

Everyone is interacting every day with this faith. Knowing God, knowing the Lord Jesus Christ, knowing the Holy Spirit, knowing all things are possible, knowing full redemption and the fullness of redemption is a step into a greater and a larger world of God. There will be many things that we’ll need our faith for in the days ahead, things that we’ve never faced. But there comes a knowing to a person who has chosen the life of faith. He rests in an assurance that all is well that a person who has not chosen the life of faith cannot enter.

We are fearfully and wonderfully made. For this reason, we can come through anything. But what we should do is reach for the heights of God and the depths of the Spirit. It’s a day to go higher and deeper, and this we will do with the help of the Holy Spirit. Whatever we pass through, we can be blessed.

When I was a teenager, something happened and my father, a doctor, took me to the hospital for a chest x-ray. I think I had fallen and hurt a rib. But the x-ray showed that my rib cage was full of arthritis. My father was amazed and asked if I was okay, but nothing ever hurt, nothing ever came of it, and it was never mentioned again. I never even thought of it until just the other day, when I thought of sharing with you how we are fearfully and wonderfully made. Whatever it was, I believe it just passed out of my body. I didn’t even know I had it, just as many people, when they go to the doctor, sometimes are surprised to learn that there is something physically wrong. But that is the moment of truth to take that thought captive, and not let it loose again.

Bring your thoughts to the goodness of the risen Lord, for you have been risen in glory with Him. If you then be risen with Christ, seek the things above. There’s no sickness, no disease, no tears, no being distraught, no frustration. Seek it. Seek those places, and seek to have a knowing of how you can live today. Oh, yes, we’ll be tired and have lots of things to do. But we’re fearfully and wonderfully made! Isn’t it amazing the things that can be accomplished if we do not allow the lower thoughts of the lower life in the natural to rule over the higher thoughts of God?

I leave you with this great thought: you have been fearfully and wonderfully made. Yes, you have been made to go through the day. You have not been made to succumb. You have been made to overcome, for you are risen and seated in heavenly places, and that has to become a place of knowing.

Know that that is where you sit today. You are not sitting in distress. People say, “Look where I sit today.” I see that I sit in heavenly places with Christ Jesus. Remember, this heavenly place was made for you and me, so be blessed and acquire the seat. Possess the seat. Know you have that seat in Him in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
