A team from Prophetic Ministries’ 2015 mission to Italy returned last summer to minister throughout Follina, Venice, and other areas in northern Italy. We were sent to re-connect to places and with people to whom we had ministered on previous trips.

We were not aware that our departing flight would be American Airlines’ inaugural flight from Dallas Fort Worth directly into Venice. In this Year of the Open Door (2025), we participated in their grand launching of the “opening of the gateway to Venice!” With music, food, dignitaries, and a prayer by the Bishop of the Diocese of Dallas, the Lord had opened the way! What a glorious sendoff!

Following the leadings of the Lord, we ministered to people throughout northern Italy and felt the Holy Spirit’s leading to return to Cortina, a day trip through the Dolomite Mountains. As we made our way up the mountains, we noticed preparations for the 2026 Winter Olympic Games. Nearing Cortina, I was impressed that we were to pray for the upcoming Olympics. We now had the specific assignment for this region. The Holy Spirit led us to the location of the Milano-Cortina Olympic sign and we knew, “This is the spot.” The area was thick with tourists, so we waited for the way to be made. Suddenly, the entire crowd departed, and we had the space to ourselves.

Now we understand we can pray effectively from any location because there is no distance in the spirit realm, but I became aware as we prayed that we were directed to be on the ground in Cortina. It was spiritually strategic that we were there on location, addressing spirits in high places from this high place near the Austrian border.

Members of our group contributed to unified prayers and declarations for the upcoming Winter Games as well as for the nations that will be in attendance. We had the witness that we had met the high call of the Spirit, using our voices to declare the will of the Lord in this area during the Games, and that we accomplished what we were sent to do in Cortina. To God be the glory!
